FRUSTRATION is part of the creative process—not an obstacle to it. Embrace, enjoy, laugh at, push past, make fun of, or stare down frustration—but don’t let it stop you.
Don’t think of frustration like it’s a cancer infecting you, or a calamity that’s befallen you. It’s normal. You are not a victim. Part of what it is to be a human making art is frustration.
In life, it’s a rare to leap from one bright moment to the next, passing so rapidly through a shadow that it’s barely on your radar. As a writer, how you handle the turgid gray periods in between the bright moments when you really love writing is a measure of how devoted you are to your vocation.
